On Wednesday Woburn Arts and Culture Today sponsored the first of Woburn's biweekly coffee houses. At 7:30 the crowd sat down in the transformed teen room of the YMCA, with coffee, tea, and snacks in hand to watch the show, or lend their own voices to the mic.
Performers included guitarist Corey Nelson, vocalist Amy Jayne, and featured poet, Walnut Da Lyrical Geni. Visual artist Errol Lawrence displayed some of his art, while local photographers Andrew Gibson and David Eggleton displayed their work as well. As a special treat, Mike, a local story teller, took advantage of the open mic, and proceeded to tell us a wonderful story. The event was Emceed by SCI's own Crystal Johnson, and a good time was had by all.
This Coffee House is made possible by the Woburn Arts/Culture Initiative with Northwest Suburban Health Alliance/CHNA 15 DoN funds from Lahey Clinic.
