On Saturday, October 21st, eight libraries, across three library networks, including the Woburn Public Library, are banding together to put on a Library Crawl.  From 10AM - 3PM, library enthusiasts are invited to take a self-guided tour of other area libraries and see what they have to offer their communities.  The Library Crawl includes a scavenger hunt of each library’s unique features, prizes (while supplies last), and light refreshments.

Here’s how it works:

Social Capital Inc. (SCI), a nonprofit organization based in Woburn is currently seeking volunteers for their ongoing project Woburn Volunteers for Seniors. This project will match handicapped and isolated seniors with local volunteers, who will assist them in various outdoor chores such as leaf removal and snow shoveling. Volunteers will also be on call in case of sudden heavy snowfall that, without assistance, could leave many seniors homebound. SCI will collaborate with the Woburn Senior Center and Woburn Council on Aging for the project.
