Welcome to my blog!

I am excited to announce that I am the new Youth Council Coordinator for Woburn. Our collective goal is to build a community where everyone has a voice. To ensure this, members of the Youth Council will focus on civic engagement by volunteering, facilitating workshops, and addressing larger issues voiced by the Woburn community.

Thank you Woburn Youth Council for making Woburn a stronger community.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced sporting event to take your family to this winter, look no further than Lowell.

The Lowell Devils hockey team is the American Hockey League affiliate to the New Jersey Devils. This is a great chance to see up and coming professional hockey players trying to make the big club as well as former NHLers on rehab assignments or prolonging their carrers for the love of the game. They play all their home games at Tsongas Arena and there is not a bad seat in the house. There is ample parking all around the Arena for 5 dollars.

George Martinez
Please join SCI in welcoming George Martinez to Woburn.

George Martinez, hip-hop artist and US cultural envoy to Bolivia, will be in the New England area from November 6 - November 10 as a guest of SCI. He will be conducting workshops and lectures at our three SCI locations, in Woburn, Lynn and Dorchester. George will bring his unique and extraordinary insight regarding issues of civic engagement, community activism, and social justice to Woburn. As president and founder of the Hip-Hop Association, George has successfully blended artistic expressions of Hip-Hop Culture and the call for activism into an innovative and inspiring presentation.

We, at SCI Woburn, want to send our wishes to everyone for a safe and happy Halloween.

May you find bliss in all of your ghoulish delights.

It was a severe injustice to the whole democratic process in Woburn that there were no debates conducted this year by either the local media outlets, WBA or SCI as in in years past. In the past 2 years there has certainly been matters of interest that should have peaked the interest of the electorate in Woburn in the conduct of our elected officials and their actions and inactions as well as that of the candidates for elected office.
