WREN is proud to present Woburn's 8th Annual Native American Pow Wow.  This gathering will take place at Berry Meadow (now Altavesta Field), Route 38, N. Woburn, MA.  The event takes place from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday July 31st and August 1st, with grand entry beginning at noon both days. Come and enjoy the Arts, Crafts, Music & Story Telling by Native Americans representing many tribes from all around the New England Area.  You can also join in on the dancing.  There will be candy and prizes for the kids during the "Candy Dance". (All Free!)

The Boys & Girls Club of Woburn needs volunteers throughout the day for the upcoming golf tournament at Indian Ridge in Andover on Monday, Aug. 9.  More details on the event can be found on their website.  Contact Carla at to sign-up to help or find out more.

We made a good decision calling off last Friday’s concert—the skies opened up right around the time we were scheduled to start the concert.  Unfortunately, the Daniel Byrne Band didn’t have any convenient dates for rescheduling, so we just have the two remaining concerts on Aug. 6 & Aug. 20.  Next up on Aug. 6 is the Celtic music of the McTeggarts; more on that to follow next week.

August 14th, Library Park:

Come celebrate the end of the summer with the Recreation Department!  There will be many fun-filled activities and events for children such as a dunk tank, moonwalk, carnival games, face painting, along with great performances.

Contact the Woburn Recreation Department for the full list.

The Annual Family Night sponsored by the Rotary Club of Woburn and the Woburn Recreation Department is Tuesday, July 27, at Library Field.  From 6-8 p.m. there is a wide range of fun, free family activities available along with grilled burgers, hot dogs and drinks ($1 per food/drink item).  At 8 p.m. a children's movie will be shown.

Sat, 06/26/2010 - 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ the North Suburban YMCA

Come watch The Fantastic Mr. Fox on a large screen, outdoors on the field!  Food will be  available starting at 7 PM, along with a performance from Odaiko New England, the Japanese drumming group who amazed YMCA members at the last movie showing!  The group will perform for an extended period before the movie. The movie will begin at 8 PM.
