Every holiday season, shoppers brave the lines at the mall to purchase gifts for friends and family. This year, have some fun shopping for gifts by bidding on an auction from the comfort of your own home. The Friends Helping Seniors are opening up the bidding for their annual holiday auction on November 1 at 8:00am through November 16.

There are a number of fun and unique items that will make the perfect holiday gifts! The highest bidder will get the chance to win items such as gift certificates, Red Sox tickets, gift baskets, hotel stays and much more!

Proceeds from the auction will help support services for the seniors of Woburn such as transportation services, Senior Center programs, domestic services and educational opportunities. The "Friends" are a private, non profit organization that works cooperatively with the Woburn Council on Aging. This auction will allow the Friends to expand upon the programs already offered to seniors.

Dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions, what more could you ask for? The North Suburban YMCA is hosting “An Evening of Dreams” gala on Friday, October 12, from 6:30pm-10:30pm at the Hilton Hotel in Woburn. Proceeds from this gala go towards a great cause! The Y’s Annual Fund provides financial assistance to families and individuals, so no one is turned away from the Y’s programs and services.  CSC 24th Annual Auction - the John McElhiney Memorial  Auction at the Montvale Plaza, Stoneham. 
Tickets $30 per person.
Dress: casual, Buffet Dinner, Cash Bar, Prizes, silent and live auction of sports memorabilia, Theater and sporting event tickets, vacation get-a-ways and much more to support the Council of Social Concern.

Fall Online Auction

Our SCI Fall Online Auction has come to a close and we'd like to take a moment to express our tremendous gratitude to everyone who helped make it a success. Through our generous bidders and sponsors, we were able to raise a total of $8,398.

Uncle Sam I Want You

SCI is looking for you to join our auction committee.  Members are needed to solicit a targeted goal of 3 – 5 prizes, valued at $50 or more for our on-line fall auction benefiting SCI’s programming in 10 Massachusetts locations.   If you’re a person with great social connections that could yield a few donated prizes and would like to volunteer for this committee, please contact Karen Rice at  or (781) 935-2244.
