May Institute Fifth Annual Carnival

The May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities will host its fifth annual Carnival on Saturday, August 23rd RAIN or SHINE.

All are welcome! This event promises to be fun for all ages! Food and drink will be available to purchase.

Carnival activities and games will include:
Dunk tank
Bouncy house
Duck pond
Chuck-A-Duck
Noodle Archery
Face-painting
Bean bag toss
Temporary tattoos
And much more!

NuPath’s newest event “Laugh Out Loud” proved to be a smashing success, raising over $10,000 from the proceeds of ticket sails, raffle donations, and silent auction bids. The event, which took place at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham on September 28th, was headlined by Showtime’s “Funniest Person in Massachusetts” comedian Tony V., who kept the crowd of 150 roaring throughout the night.  All proceeds from the event, which boasted not only an unforgettable performance by Tony V. but dance music by the band Strictly Overtime and a delicious buffet dinner went to support the 350 adults with developmental disabilities that NuPath serves.

Autism: We're Not Just Numbers

The Woburn Special Education Parent Advisory Council will present an autism awareness program entitled Autism: We’re Not Just Numbers, at the Woburn Public Library from 7-8:30.

1 in 88 people have some form of Autism. But these are just numbers. It’s the people who matter. Understanding how autism in its many forms affects people can help you be a better friend, aunt, cousin, or neighbor to the families in your life who are affected.

Autism Awareness Storytime @ the Library

In celebration of Autism Awareness Month, NuPath, Inc. and the Woburn Public Library have teamed up to present an Autism Awareness Storytime on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 3:30—4:30 p.m. All ages are invited to come and listen to stories featuring children with autism, read by NuPath’s Human Resources Director, Laure Porter. The Children’s Room will have a display of materials available for borrowing on autism and Asberger’s syndrome. NuPath will present a new book on autism for the Children’s Room collection. Refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the program.

NuPath, Inc., proudly partnered with the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, will present Temple Grandin on April 4, 2012.  The film will be the first in a three film movies series put on by NuPath, Inc. to celebrate Autism Awareness Month.   Temple Grandin will be shown at the O'Leary Building, Room 222 starting at 5:00 pm and is free to the general public. The movie screening includes light refreshments and a discussion after the movie concludes.

This event marks a new series of Autism Awareness events leading up to “Walk the Walk,” NuPath’s second annual fundraising walk to celebrate Autism awareness in the community and to fund NuPath, Inc.’s new Autism division Center located in Westford, MA.  Learn more about the month's events by visiting tinyurl.com/walkthewalk12.
