CHNA 15 Communities Resource Forum: "Facts and Fiction About Marijuana"

As part of its Healthy Communities Resource Forum, CHNA 15 will be hosting "Facts and Fiction About Marijuana," featuring Dr. Kevin Hill, M.D., M.H.S. The forum will take place on Thursday, January 5, at the Acton Public Safety Building (371 Main St., Acton MA). From 1:30-2pm there will be networking and refreshments and from 2-4:30pm there will be a business meeting and community forum.

CHNA 15 Mini-grant Information Session

The 2013-2014 CHNA 15 MiniGrant RFP has been released. They will be hosting a Mini-Grant Information Session on Thursday, April 11 from 11AM to Noon at the Woburn Senior Center (144 School Street). Awards of up to $5,000 each will be made in late June. 

Notification of Intent to Apply is due by April 19. Proposals must be postmarked by May 17, 2013.

Everyone, including former recipients, is encouraged to attend the Information Session. Email Jan Hanson, CHNA 15 Coordinator, at CHNA15Coordinator@gmail.com to let her know you are attending.

CHNA15 Offers 2-day Mental Health First Aid Training

In the wake of recent tragedies across the country, community members are wondering what they can do to make sure incidents like these stop occuring. The Northwest Surburban Health Alliance-Community Health Network Area 15 (CHNA 15) is providing one solution by offering a 2-day Mental Health First Aid training.

This training is intended for adults who work with individuals that have mental health issues. After this training, people will be able to recognize and appropriately deal with signs of mental health issues.

CHNA15 will host these trainings on March 1 and March 8 from 9:00am-4:30pm at Minutemen Senior Services, 26 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA. If you are interested in registering for this training, please fill out the attached registration form and send it out as soon as possible as spots will fill up quickly. The registration fee is $40 and must be received by February 20. The fee covers the cost of a manual and lunch for both days. Registration is expected to be high and will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration closes on February 20.
