WorldFest Now Accepting Performance and Vendor Applications

WorldFest 2017 is now accepting both performance and vendor applications! The event will take place on Sunday, May 21 from 1-5pm. Location is TBD.

WorldFest is an annual multicultural festival that takes place in Woburn, celebrating ethnic diversity and cultural traditions from around the world. It is a joint collaboration between SCI and the International Learning Center of the YMCA. Visitors can enjoy a variety of performances, craft vendors, cultural displays and food from countries across the globe!

We are looking for multicultural performers, vendors serving ethnic foods, people and/or businesses to dispay their cultural arts & crafts or participants interested in providing children's activities. Winter Hockey Classic at Leland Park to celebrate Woburn's 375th Anniversary

The 375th Anniversary Committee would like to invite family and friends to come together for a day of winter fun! The 375th Winter Classic will take place on Saturday, February 11 from 1-6pm at Leland Park, 87 Central Street Woburn, MA. There will be a number of activities held throughout the day, including children's ice skating, an adult hockey tournament, live music and fireworks! 

Residents of all ages are encouraged to stop by and join in the family fun! 
 

Standing Together: Justice for & with Our Immigrant Neighbors

The Woburn United Methodist Church will be hosting "Stand Together: Justice for & with Our Immigrant Neighbors" on Saturday, January 28 from 10am-3pm. The event will focus on learning about immigrant rights, how to be a sanctuary congregation/community, and how to stand together for justice and compassion. Speaking at the event will be Toni Machowsky, Program Director at MIRA (Massachusetts Immigrants and Refugees Advocacy Coalition) and Reverand Robin Hynicka of the Arch Street UMC in Philadephia. 

Library Renovation Road Show

The Woburn Library admin team will be hosting a Library Renovation Road Show event at the Woburn Senior Center on Wednesday, January 11 from 11am-1pm. The event will feature virtual tours of the library's reconstruction project!
 

Fishing Derby and Family Day at Horn Pond

The Woburn Elks are hosting a fishing derby and cookout at Horn Pond (the main location on Lake Ave.) from 9am-3pm on June 10. There will also be face painting and kayaking, and the debut of Woburn Historical Commission's historical homes publication.
 

Memorial Day Ceremony and Re-dedication

This event features a Memorial Day ceremony, as well as the re-dedication of the First Burial Ground on Park St. The re-dedication will be lead by Mayor Galvin, the Woburn Historical Society, and the Woburn Cemetary Commission. It will also feature a new memorial stone, new fencing, and plans to identify 461 unmarked burials recently identified.

Re-dedication of Historic Battle Road

This event will consist of the clean-up and re-dedication of the historic Battle Rd., in honor of the men from Woburn who went off to fight. There will also be the unveiling of a new stone monument at the Cambridge Rd. end.
