SCI staff with "$100K for 100" sign

Social Capital Inc. (SCI) is one of 100 local nonprofits this year to receive a grant of $100,000 through Cummings Foundation's "$100K for 100" program. The Woburn-based organization was chosen from a total of 549 applicants during a competitive review process.

"We are thrilled to receive this grant from the Cummings Foundation," commented SCI President and Founder, David Crowley. "The significant, multi-year support will enable us to make substantial progress on important issues facing our communities."

Representing SCI, David Crowley and John Franson, Board Chair, will join approximately 300 other guests at a reception at TradeCenter 128 in Woburn to celebrate the $10 million infusion into Greater Boston's nonprofit sector. With the conclusion of this grant cycle, Cummings Foundation has now awarded more than $170 million to local nonprofits alone.

Thankful to Benefit from Creative Corporate Giving

SCI is pleased to be one of the beneficiaries of a creative new corporate philanthropy program of Cummings Properties. Cummings Properties, a commerical real estate firm, has started a new Staff Giving on Thanksgiving program, allowing staff who have worked there for 10 years or more to choose locally based non-profits that will collectively receive $111,000 in donations.

Non-profits in Woburn will receive $18,000 collectively, more than organizations in any other single community . Some of the other beneficiaries include the Council for Social Concern, the Woburn Public Library, the Boys and Girls Club, and Woburn Youth Hockey to name a few examples.
