The Woburn Public Library is collecting donations for the upcoming book sale. If you'd like to donate, bring your books to the library at 36 Cummings Park starting September 5th. Acceptable items include books, audiobooks and DVDs.

The food pantry shelves are bare. Any items you can bring to help the food pantry are much appreciated. It does not have to be the weekly suggested item. Any suitable, non - expired, food/drink items are welcome.

Kids with winter coats

This winter Anton's Cleaners will be organizing a large scale coat drive by collecting, cleaning and distributing coats to families, schools and other groups who help get winter clothes to kids.   The drive has been done for over 18 years now and Anton's reports collecting, cleaning and distributing more than 800,000 coats to children in need.

Help support the American Legion Riders Chapter 273, by donating items for their annual yard sale taking place on Saturday, March 1, 2014. No better time to clean out your attic, basement, and storage to find some great items to be donated. For more information or to arrange a pick up, email alrchapter273@gmail.com or call Amy at 781-726-0587. 

American Legion Riders are a nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible. All of the proceeds donated will go directly to local veteran causes.

The Food Pantry located at 2 Merrimac Street is in need of assistance. If you are able to help out by picking up a few extra groceries in the next few weeks, that would be a great help.

Rodney Flynn, the Treasurer of WREN (Woburn Residents' Environmental Network) has offered to help drop off items of donation to the pantry if you are unable to make it yourself. You may contact Rodney through email at FVirgos01801@aol.com or call him at (781) 935-0222. The pantry's drop off hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday. Please note that donated items must be within the freshness date stamped on the can or package.

As a reminder the items listed below are acceptable for donations:
- Baked beans, canned fruits/vegetables, canned lunch (Spaghetti O's, etc), canned meat (stew, spam, chili), cereals, condiments, coffee, dessert mixes, Jello-O, pudding, instant mashed potatoes, snacks (cookies and crackers), sugar free/low sodium/fat free foods, jelly, juice, pasta, peanut butter, powdered milk, rice/rice mixes, soup, spaghetti sauce, and tuna

Unacceptable/Avoidable Items include:
- Fresh or frozen items
- Items in glass jars
