SCI is kicking off their first ever Social Capital Forum Series on Friday, May 3rd! You are invited to attend this interesting discussion on how community engagement can drive economic growth.

The Forum will feature including Peter Levine, Director of CIRCLE at Tufts University, and the Mayor of Somerville, Joseph Curtatone. Peter Levine will present some of the leading research on this topic including results from the study "Civic Health & Unemployment II" released in September 2012 by The National Conference on Citizenship (NCoC).

This study links high levels of civic health to lower unemployment rates. It also points to the importance of "social cohesion" and the presence of nonprofits that engage the community as contributing to a stronger employment picture.

This event is FREE but advance registration is required. The forum will take place at Goulston & Storrs (400 Atlantic Avenue, Boston MA). Registration and networking begin at 8AM and the program will run from 8:30-10:30AM. A light breakfast will also be served.
