The North Suburban YMCA is hosting Darkness to Light child sexual abuse prevention trainings for adults in the community on:
1. Tuesday, June 4th 6-8:30pm at the Council for Social Concern in Woburn
2. Saturday June 15th 9:30-12pm at the North Suburban YMCA
3. Tuesday, June 25th 6-8:30pm at the North Suburban YMCA
Stewards of Children is the only evidence-based child sexual abuse prevention training proven effective in educating adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. With statistics stating that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday, it is time that community members take action to reverse these alarming trends.
The YMCA is working with schools, daycare centers, community organizations, faith groups and parents to train community members to keep children safe. They hope to educate and train 5,935 people in the community by the year 2017 using this Stewards of Children curriculum.
This training is FREE for North Suburban YMCA Members and community residents of Woburn, Winchester, Burlington, Lexington and Arlington, and $10 per person for residents of other communities. Three training hour credits are available to professionals.
Space is limited and advance registration is required. For more information and to register for this training, call the North Suburban YMCA Welcome Center at (781) 935-3270. To schedule a workshop at your location, contact Jodi Crowley at (781) 305-2908 or firstname.lastname@example.org
