SCI Social Capital Inc. is currently seeking a part-time volunteer coordinator to assist with our Woburn Volunteers for Seniors Program, in collaboration with the Woburn Council on Aging. In this program, volunteers will be matched with local seniors to assist with fall/winter outdoor chores such as leaf raking/disposal and snow shoveling. This assisting can be life-saving in the instance of extreme snowfall!

The position would entail recruiting volunteers from Woburn and neighboring communities and matching these volunteers with isolated seniors in Woburn. The Woburn Council on Aging will identify seniors needing assistance and refer them to the volunteer coordinator for matching.

Do you have unused or broken electronic appliances simply taking up space in your home? Perhaps, you are planning on having guests over your house this holiday season and need to clear up some extra space? Then why not bring your unwanted appliances down to Spence Farm for an Appliance Recycling Collection Drive!

Have your unwanted appliances recycled for a minimal cost, while at the same time supporting local organizations. On Saturday, November 17 from 9am to 1pm half the proceeds from the appliance recycling drive will raise money for Social Capital, Inc. in Woburn. For a full price list of items to recycle, see the attached list.

We are also still looking for volunteers to help out with this event! We need people to lift appliances as well as people to greet those who are dropping off their appliances. This is a great opportunity to volunteer for a good cause while having fun! See the attached flyer for more information on how you can help out!
