Take advantage of this beautiful spring weather by getting outside and volunteering at a local community garden! 

The North Suburban YMCA is looking for volunteers on Friday, May 17th anytime between 8:30AM-6:00PM to help plant and finish prepping garden boxes at their community garden!
Volunteers may stay as long as they would like. Whole Foods Market in Woburn will also be stopping by to help out.

SCI and the YMCA teamed up last summer during National Volunteer Week to kick start the "Giving Garden," but volunteers are still needed to help maintain it throughout the summer. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Annie Medonis at amedonis@ymcaboston.org.

Another option for volunteers looking to help out at a community garden is at the Woburn Food Pantry's community garden plot! Last year, the Council of Social Concern hosted it and tons of volunteers came out to help make it a smashing success. Now, they are looking for new helpers this year to tend to the garden!

Want to be a part of multicultural festival celebrating diversity in the community? SCI and the YMCA International Learning Center in Woburn are currently looking for volunteers to help out at the annual WorldFest celebration on Sunday, May 19th.

Volunteers are needed in various capacities such as helping with set up, clean up, registration tables, and support for vendors, children's activities and performers. Volunteers will be able to pick from shifts rather than work the entire event, which runs from 2-5PM. Volunteers will also receive a FREE t-shirt!

Volunteers are needed to help out at the 2013 Annual Boys & Girls Club of Woburn Carnival, which takes place from May 8th-May 12th. This carnival is a ton of fun and proceeds support the Club's programs.

Volunteers are needed in 2-3 hour blocks Thursday through Sunday to help out at the admission and ticket booths. The available blocks are as follows:

Thursday and Friday: 5:30pm-10:30pm in (2-2½ hour blocks) 
Saturday: 11:30am-10:30pm (2½ -3 hour blocks) 
Sunday: 11:30am-8:30pm (2½ -3 hour blocks).

Know any youth looking for Y.E.S. (Youth Engaged in Service) hours? The Council of Social Concern has the perfect opportunity for them.

They are currently looking for 4 to 5 volunteers to help out at their 25th annual fundraising auction in the evening on Friday, May 3rd at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (15 Middlesex Canal Road, Woburn).

Volunteers are needed to help out in the claims area. They will be responsible for grouping items together for the auction and handing them out. Volunteers will be needed from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

The North Suburban YMCA is currently looking for volunteers to help out with its Healthy Kids Day on April 27th. This is a free event for the community to get kids moving and learning, and families living healthier.

Volunteers are needed to run several activities including face painting, fun with food, and much more.

Teach a class at NuPath Inc.! NuPath is an SCI partner site and a vocational day program and residential network for people with developmental disabilities and autism. 

NuPath is currently looking for volunteers who would be interested in teaching a class on a variety of topics such as photography, painting, money management, computer skills, cooking and much more!

Classes can be held during weekdays, evenings or weekends depending on the volunteer's schedule. Although availability for multiple classes is preferred, volunteers who would like to teach a class one time can be accomodated.

The North Suburban YMCA currently needs volunteers to help with the April Vacation Day Camps for kids from April 16-April 19.

Volunteers will get the chance to do fun activities and games with the children! The camp runs from 7:30AM-5:00PM each day.
