WBA's Women of Woburn will be hosting their monthly luncheon on Wednesday, June 21 at 12pm at the Council of Social Concern (2 Merrimac Street, Woburn MA). Join them for their June meeting to discuss more about the Council as a great non-profit community resource, as well as enjoy a tour with Director of PR and Development, Mary Laing.

The Council of Social Concern will be hosting its annual John McElhiney Memorial Auction on Saturday, April 29 at the Crest View Plaza in Woburn starting at 6pm. Tickets for admission are $35.00 which includes a buffet-style dinner featuring light appetizers, baked macaroni and cheese, sirloin tips, sausage and peppers & more! There will also be a cash bar available.

What can you do to help? DONATE an auction item ie. theatre tickets, restaurant gift cards or hotel stays. ATTEND the auction with family and friends - tables of 8-10 can be reserved! SPONSOR the auction, anywhere from $99-$5,000 for ads, publicity & more. Lastly, get the chance to WIN a basket of gift certificates for fine dining at local restaurants valued at over $500 - all you have to do is purchase Dine-Around raffle tickets for $15.

John McElhiney Memorial Auction

The Council of Social Concern will be hosting its annual John McElhiney Memorial Auction on Saturday, April 29 starting at 6pm. The event will take place at the Crest View Plaza on 36 Montvale Avenue in Woburn, MA. All proceeds will benefit agency programs.

Registration for the event is $35 and includes admission and a buffet dinner. Doors will open at 5:45pm and the silent auction, buffet dinner and live auction will begin at 6pm. Platinum sponsor for this event is the Cummings Foundation and Gold sponsors are the Winchester Co-operative Bank and Winchester Hospital.

On Friday, May 2nd the Council of Social Concern will host their 26th Annual Auction. This event will take place at the Crowne Plaza located at 15 Middlesex Canal Road in Woburn beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $40 per person and are only sold in advance. No tickets will be available for purchase at the door. The event will have a buffet dinner, cash bar, a silent and live auction. There will be an abundance of great items to bid on including, sports memorabilia, theatre tickets, sporting events, restaurants, gift certificates, and much more.

On Sunday, March 9 the Woburn Public Media Center, Comcast, and the Council of Social Concern will work together to make the 6th annual Council of Social Concern telethon another successful event. This event will take place at the Woburn Public Media Center at Woburn Memorial High School located at 88 Montvale Ave from Noon to 3 pm. The telethon will help promote the Council of Social Concern's programs that provide hope, help, and support to those most in need in our community. All proceeds raised from the telethon will go directly to the agency's programs.

Food Basket

The Council of Social Concern is preparing for their 28th Annual Holiday food basket distribution. Baskets containing food items for a holiday meal are prepared and distributed to needy families in Woburn and Winchester for Thanksgiving and again in December.

The Council of Social Concern located at 2 Merrimac Street in Woburn will be hosting its Holiday Food Drive.This food drive will help benefit families in need be able to celebrate the holidays. This year's goal is to fill 20 baskets with food and beverages for the Food Pantry. You may choose to donate food to the pantry directly by giving them a few items or you may opt to create your own Holiday basket with necessary items, please see below for what items are necessary for the basket.
