Addiction doesn't care who you are or where you come from.  

Chris Sullivan was a Patriot from 1996 - 2002.  By all rights, he led a successful life. He also struggled with anxiety and addiction to drugs and alcohol, a struggle led to his retirement from the NFL.   Kathi Sullivan was a normal mom with a normal life. And then her 17 year old daughter, Taylor, drowned in 2 feet of swampy water--the result of underage drinking and poor choices.

Rock for the Library: A WPL Foundation Fundraiser

FRIDAY, APRIL 27 7:00—11:00 PM

Funhouse and Site 39 are going to Rock for the Library on Friday, April 27, from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm at the Woburn Elks on Washington Street! 

Tickets are $20 at the door. All proceeds benefit the WPL Foundation's fundraising efforts to supply furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the library's renovation and expansion project.

What's better than reading children's books?  Having professional musicians bring the story to musical life by playing, singing and providing expert narration!  Please join the Woburn Public Library at the Reeves Elementary school for a fantastic morning of story and music (expertly provided by the faculty and staff of the Powers Music School in Belmont).

Join the Woburn Public Library for a discussion on Bryan Stevenson's Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption. They will briefly be discussing Between the World and Me--cancelled due to snow--at the start of the meeting. The meeting will take place Thursday March 1st from 7 - 8:45 p.m. in the staff room of the Woburn Public Library (temporary location). Light refreshments will be served, this meeting is for ages 15+. 

Adulting! Commuter Cooking that's Fast & Fresh

Nobody said being an adult was easy.  So, come get your feet wet (or get a refresher!) and learn how to do lots of adult things like: smart budgeting and saving, buying a house, help manage your anxiety with yoga, cooking commuter-friendly foods, and learning how to make basic clothing repairs with a needle and thread.  Light refreshments provided.

3/16 Commuter cooking that's fast & fresh. Cooking demo of 2 easy meals in under 60 minutes, using today's trendiest kitchen gadget! Led by 2 long-time commuters, Rebecca Meehan &  Andrea Bunker.

Between the World and Me is a 2015 book written by Ta-Nehisi Coates. It is written as a letter to the author's teenaged son about the feelings, symbolism, and realities associated with being black in the United States.
