Scarecrows For Solutions

Come and build your very own scarecrow. Bring a long sleeve shirt and long pants to dress your scarecrow. The rest will be provided. All the proceeds to benefit the Woburn Public Library, The Boys & Girls Club of Woburn and The Mother to Mother group of Burlington.

The Annual Friends of the Library Meeting for current and prospective members of the Friends will be held at 6:30 pm on Sept. 18, followed by a special presentation on the Community Preservation Act at 7 pm. Novel Ideas: Fiction Book Club for Adults

On Wednesday, September 17 at 7PM, make reading a social activity by joining us at the Woburn Public Library for the inaugural meeting of Novel Ideas, our new fiction-focused book club for adults. We will discuss Kate Atkinson’s latest work Life after Life. Copies of this title are available at the circulation desk. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social at Woburn Public Library

Join the Woburn Public Library and friends for a fun filled event. The fourth annual old-fashioned Ice Cream Social. This event will be taking place July 27th from 2-5p.m. with a rain date of August 3rd. The afternoon will be filled with sweet ice cream, fun filled games and activities, and lots of good music. With the event being generously sponsored by Whole Foods, the tickets to this fun filled event are only $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. There will also be a raffle for an Ice Cream Party in a Basket, which you can now enter at the Circulation Desk.

The Woburn Public Library will be hosting their 2014 Summer Reading Adventure. Children are encouraged to sign up for the adventure at the Library located at 45 Pleasant Street between June 23 and July 25, 2014. Participants will receive a tracker sheet and a folder after signing up. They are encouraged to keep track of the amount of time they spent reading or number of pages read depending on their grade. Each week they meet their reading goal, they will earn a museum pass.

On Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 the Friends of the Woburn Public Library will host their annual library book sale. This event will take place directly behind the Library located at 45 Pleasant Street. The Book Sale will take place rain or shine. The Members Only Night will take place on Friday, June 13 from 4-7 pm. Anyone who wishes to visit the sale on Friday must be a Friend or become a Friend at the entrance. The sale is open to all without an entrance fee on Saturday, June 14 from 10 am to 6 pm.
