Please join the Woburn Senior Center on Thursday, June 17th from 10am to Noon at the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street for the topic of “Healthy Snacks/Healthy Dialogue”. Join family members, caregivers, people with Alzheimer’s and friends of the Alzheimer’s Association for coffee and healthy snacks and an opportunity to meet the legislators. The Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street, will once again be participating in the annual “Coats for Kids” drive in conjunction with Anton’s Cleaners. Coats for all age groups will be collected in the front lobby of the Senior Center through January 9, 2010. Warm, winter jackets that are gently used and of good quality are requested. The demand for coats is especially high this year and once collected, the coats are cleaned for free by Anton’s Cleaners and distributed throughout the Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire area.
Tickets are on sale at $1 each for an ice cream social scheduled for Thursday, August 6th at the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street. Entertainment begins at 1pm featuring singer Greg Curtis, sponsored by the Cultural Council. Ice cream sundaes will follow at 2pm and the event will conclude with a door prize drawing. The Woburn Senior Center is fully air conditioned and handicap accessible. For transportation information contact 781-897-5964. The "Movie of the week" program takes place, at the Woburn Senior Center, located at 144 School Street, on Mondays at 10:00am and at 1:30pm and also on Fridays at 10:00am. This week the movie of the week will be "Fly Away Home. For further information contact Judy Tanner at 781-897-5963.

The Intergenerational Program, which takes place on July 16th and runs from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, brings local senior citizens and youth together to talk and lean about their differences and similarities. It provides opportunities to share knowledge and experience to develop a better understanding of a different generation. Campers from the North Sububan YMCA and seniors will meet at the Woburn Senior Center. The Woburn Senior Center is located at 144 School Street in Woburn. This week the discussion will be focusing on safety and security and how it is important to Seniors. Also discussed will be information about financial products offered for personal planning. This weeks discussion will be presented by Chandrani Jayasekera from the New York Life Insurance Company. The Woburn Senior Center is located at 144 School Street in Woburn.
A breakfast buffet for those attending the lecture will be served at 9:45am for $1 per breakfast, supported by “Friends Helping Seniors” and AARP Secure Horizons. Breakfast will be followed by the free lecture at 10:30am.
