AARP logoThis coming wednesday, January 28th, at the Woburn Senior Center, Bert Baar, a tax aid volunteer from AARP will be holding a lecture for seniors.  The lecture is titled What's new in taxes for Seniors?

Lahey ClinicThis coming thursday, Jnauary 29th, at the Woburn Senior Center there will be a Diabetes Self Management Progam hosted by volunteers from the Lahey Clinic.  In this porgram people will learn how to self manage their diabtes and figure out how to magange their lives around their diabetes. This event is starting at 12:30 pm.  Lahey Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit group practice.

Lahey Clinic LogoLahey Clinic LogoThis coming thursday there will be a Healthy Eating Seminar taking place at the Woburn Senior Center.  This seminar is being hosted by volunteers from the Laehy Clinic and will be starting at 10:00 am.  The Woburn Senior Center is located at 144 School street.  Lahey Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit group practice.

woburn senior centerThis week, the Woburn Senior Center at 144 School Street in Woburn is proud to present a book discussion and signing by local author Marie Coady, who will be showcasing her new book, "Woburn: Hidden Tales of a Tannery Town". This event is a great opportunity to learn more about local history and share knowledge and ideas with other members of the community.  It will be preceeded by the breakfast buffet for $1 per breakfast, beginning at 9:45AM. for those attending the lecture.  The Breakfast and Lecture Series is brought to you and supported by “Friends Helping Seniors” and AARP Secure Horizons.

woburn senior centerThe Woburn Senior Center, located on 144 School Street, will host an “Indian Lunch” on Friday, November 7th at 11AM.  Minuteman Senior Services will sponsor this delicious lunch featuring lentil and vegetable dishes, yogurt, rice, bread and rice pudding (dal, sabji, raita, rice, nan and kheer).  The food is catered by Bollywood Café, located in Lexington.  A $3 donation goes toward programs put forth by Minuteman Senior Services.  Reservations are required.  Please call 781-935-2239 to reserve your space.

woburn senior centerThe Woburn Senior Center, located on 144 School Street, will offer the annual “Friends Helping Seniors Holiday Fair and Lunch” on Saturday, November 1st from 9am to 2pm.  The fair will include a unique “White Elephant” room featuring all sorts of treasures.  Toys and games for the children will be offered as well as handmade crafts.  Holiday Items will be available as well as plants, jewelry, books, clothing and a bake sale.  Raffles will include gift baskets, handmade afghans and a thanksgiving basket.  The onsite “Golden Gift Shop” will be open for special Saturday hours.  All proceeds will benefit “Friends Helping Seniors”.  The Woburn Senior Center is handicapped accessible.

woburn Senior CenterThe Woburn Senior Center and "Friends Helping Seniors, Inc." invites you to join them for their latest in the "Breakfast and Lecture" series held at the Woburn Senior Center on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd.  A breakfast buffet FOR THOSE ATTENDING THE LECTURE will be served at 9:45 AM. for $1 per breakfast, supported by “Friends Helping Seniors”.  Breakfast will be followed by a free one hour lecture at 10:30 AM.  This week's lecture will be "Fire Safety: What do you need to know to keep safe in your own home and maintain independence?" presented by William Sweeney from the Woburn Fire Department.
