Join the Woburn Senior Center (144 School St., Woburn) for their 2013 Fall Festival on Friday, September 20th starting at 9:00 a.m.! The festival takes place in recognition of National Senior Center Month.

Here is the schedule of events:
9am – Noon – Fall Festival Open House/Health Fair
12:30pm – 1pm – Lunch served in Dining Hall
1pm – Door prize drawing in the main dining hall
This event is sponsored by: The City of Woburn; Woburn Council on Aging (via the EOEA) and “Friends Helping Seniors”.

Every holiday season, shoppers brave the lines at the mall to purchase gifts for friends and family. This year, have some fun shopping for gifts by bidding on an auction from the comfort of your own home. The Friends Helping Seniors are opening up the bidding for their annual holiday auction on November 1 at 8:00am through November 16.

There are a number of fun and unique items that will make the perfect holiday gifts! The highest bidder will get the chance to win items such as gift certificates, Red Sox tickets, gift baskets, hotel stays and much more!

Proceeds from the auction will help support services for the seniors of Woburn such as transportation services, Senior Center programs, domestic services and educational opportunities. The "Friends" are a private, non profit organization that works cooperatively with the Woburn Council on Aging. This auction will allow the Friends to expand upon the programs already offered to seniors.

On November 1 at 8:00am, the Friends Helping Seniors 2012 Holiday Auction will open up for bidding. This year, the Friends hope to raise funds to support services for the seniors of Woburn.

In recognition of National Senior Center Week, the Woburn Senior Center will be hosting a health and information fair on Friday, September 28 from 9:00am-12:00pm. The event is open to all age groups and will include numerous participants such as the Council of Social Concern, Friends Helping Seniors, New Horizons at Choate, City of Woburn Board of Health, Woburn Public Library, Social Capital Inc. and many more!
