Calling all Burlington youth with a passion to make a difference! Is there a community issue that needs to be addressed? Would funding make it easier to solve the problem? Check out the Burlington Youth Council mini-grant application and apply for a grant today! The Burlington Youth Council is starting a mini-grant program, funded by Comcast, for interested youth organizations and/or clubs. Youth-led groups who want to run or create a Community Service Learning Project are eligible to apply for a grant ranging between $100 to $4,000. In order to apply for a mini-grant, there a few requirements. Mini-grants must be requested from a youth involved group with an adult acting in a strictly advisory role, the requested funds must be for a Community Service Learning (CSL) Project and should involve youth volunteering to address a clearly defined community need. Completed applications are due by March 23rd, 2010 and can be downloaded below, or picked up at the Boys and Girls of Woburn. Don't wait; apply today! The Burlington Youth Council is coordinated through a partnership between the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn and Social Capital Inc. It is based on the Youth Council program originally started in Woburn that is now operating in 6 Massachusetts locations. The program is funded through a grant from the Comcast Foundation, with additional support from the Mass. Service Alliance and AmeriCorps. For further questions or inquiries e-mail bhanagan@socialcapitalinc.org, call 781-935-3777, or visit www.SCIWoburn.org.

This is a good news and opportunity for the youths out there. If this has been existing before Adam Rich maybe would not have gotten the troubles the he has now. What he needs is guidance really.
