Disposal Of Latex Paints

At our appliance collections and when I was involved with the cities quarterly collections we would get asked about other items and how to dispose of them.

One such item is latex paints.

The following is an excerpt from the cities web site which explains how to dispose of these non hazardous items in their solid form.

Latex Paint:
Latex Paint is non-hazardous and can be disposed of with your regular trash.  Any paint left in the can MUST be completely dried out.  You may do this by mixing the paint with kitty litter or you may purchase a paint hardener kit at your local home improvement store in the paint section.  We recommend disposing no more than  two cans of paint in each bag of trash.  Please do not leave cans on the curb they will not be taken.
