The Jack Marlowe Park Summer Concert Series kicked off last Friday with Ska band Beat Soup. The rain held off and an enthusiastic crowd gathered for the concert sponsored by the Woburn Mall/KGI Properties.
Audience members were treated to Beat Soup’s Ska-influenced style that included both instrumental dance pieces and vocal numbers. Playing originals and covers, the 7-piece band from Boston featured a classic sax, trombone, and trumpet section as well as guitar, keyboard and drums. The band had audience members dancing from start to finish with their lively beats. The night ended perfectly with clear skies and a happy, toe-tapping crowd.
This is the seventh year that the Jack Marlowe Park (formerly Citizens Park) Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. Join friends and family every other Friday throughout the summer at Jack Marlowe Park. Each concert welcomes a new, talented group of musicians to Woburn. The next concert will be on July 10th, featuring the bluegrass band Southern Rail.
With generous support from local businesses, this concert series is free to the public. For a full schedule including dates, performers, and sponsors please visit click here.
