Goodyear School Appliance/Freon Bearing/CRT Device Recycling
Location(s)
Goodyear School Appliance/Freon Bearing/CRT Device Recycling
Did you get something new under the tree this Christmas and wondering what to do with that old television, computer monitor or appliance that is broken, unwanted or unused and just taking up space?
Paul Medeiros has found and is working with a Massachusetts company that will collect these items at drop off sites set up throughout Woburn at various times throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity to recycle these items at a minimal cost compared to the high cost associated with curbside appliance recycling programs and will also be a fundraiser for local organizations that will sponsor these events. Another good thing and possibly the best part of this program is that it is open to residents from any and all communities, not just Woburn, as well as any and all business entities. With your help these collections have raised over $33,000 dollars for local organizations in less than two years! So clean out those basements, attics, garages and warehouses and bring your items down!
This collection will be on Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Goodyear School located at 41 Orange St, in Woburn and will benefit the many Goodyear School and PTO projects and programs. A portion of the proceeds from these collections are used for a scholarship fund for a Woburn High School graduating senior that will be continuing their education in the field of environmental education.
If you miss or cannot attend this collection the next one will be on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Joyce Middle School which is located at 55 Locust Street in Woburn from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.

Well, that’s
Well, that’s truly a great program, no doubt. This program is really a good idea. There are lots of appliances around that can still be fixed and reused, but the problem is some people aren’t creative and don’t want to waste their time on repairing those things, while some don’t have money to pay for its repair. One of the things that instant payday loans come in handy for is when you need repairs. A broken appliance, like a broken oven can be a nasty expense, especially if you own an older model that needs more care. An oven-less kitchen is about the last thing most people need to worry about, so getting it fixed or replaced is a high priority – and that is when they look into getting payday loans to help out around the house.
Thank You
Hi All
Thanks to the volunteers from WREN and my many friends that show up at most of these events. Also thanks to the Goodyear School for sponsoring this event and the volunteers from the school that showed up to help inspite of the single digit tempartaures. Thanks as well to Tucker Quinn and the Woburn DPW for having the saw horses delivered for use in traffic control at these events.
Thanks to the many businesses and individuals that showed up we raised over 2000 dollars for the many Goodyear School projects and programs as well as 200 dollars toward the Woburn High School scholarship fund.
