On Saturday, Woburn's own "Mother Nature" and WREN president, Gerry Kehoe will be leading a Nature Walk around the Lagoon Area of Horn Pond's
Conservation Area. So come on down and bring the kids...nieces, nephews,
grandchildren or even someone else's kids. (If none of them are available, bring yourself).
Gerry will be giving a little history of the area and pointing out all of
nature's wonders. You may see baby swans, geese and ducks. Maybe see a
cormorant diving for fish or standing on a rock with his wings out stretched
drying out or maybe even a Great Blue Heron standing perfectly still in the
reeds. Oh yes and don't forget the wildflowers, all kinds of wildflowers
you might even see a pink Ladyslipper.
So don't forget to wear good walking shoes, bring sunblock and insect
repellant (just in case) and of course your camera. But PEASE, NO PETS! (Dogs
of course are allowed at the Pond but on our Nature and Bird Walks they
will scare the other animals away)
The group will meet at 9 am at Ice House Park (near the intersection of
Sturgis and Water Streets) and the group will return there between 10:30 and
11:00 at the end.
