Press Release: Austin Torpedoes Kicking Off Horn Pond Summer Concert Series This Saturday
The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series kicks off on Saturday, June 10 with the Austin Torpedoes, a band with local ties to Woburn who has performed for the series previously. The concert will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis Street, otherwise known as Ice House Park. This concert is sponsored by the Woburn 375th Celebration. The Austin Torpedoes are a Boston-based band who perform an eclectic mix of tunes in their own distinct way. Their unique sound combines elements of many American musical styles such as blues, jazz, country, western swing and rock. The band covers songs by a wide range of artists including Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, The Beatles and Chuck Berry.
This is the fifteenth year that the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. The concerts are a perfect way to spend summer nights with your fellow community members and enjoy the beautiful Horn Pond area.

This Summer Concert Series performance is sponsored by the Woburn 375th Celebration and is being held in conjunction with the Woburn's 375th Anniversary Family Fishing Festival. Come out rain or shine to enjoy a fun for the whole family, learn to fish event! Beginning at 9 a.m., enjoy fishing, boating, free burgers and drinks, children's activities and the first Horn Pond Summer Concert.
The Summer Concert Series is coordinated by Social Capital Inc. (SCI) and the City of Woburn. A special thank you goes out to the Woburn DPW for their logistical assistance.
