Sign-up Now for Aug. 14 Social Media Training

We're now taking official sign-ups for the first SCI Social Media Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 14.  The session will run from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Woburn, 60 Forest Rd.  We appreciate them sharing their wifi enabled meeting space with us for this training!  Click here to purchase pay your registration fee & sign up!.

The details on the content follow below.  The training is $10 if you sign up and pay in advance; $15 if you pay at the door.  The preferred method is to pay online via our secure Google checkout account.  You can also mail a check made out to SCI to us at 165M New Boston St., Suite 233, Woburn MA 01801.  If you're sending a check please also email dcrowley @ socialcapitalinc.org so that we can add you to the list & get you any follow-up details.

If you have a wifi enabled laptop, please bring it.  It is not required though, as we'll be projecting from the trainer's computer and have an extra or two on hand for the interactive portions of the training.

TRAINING OVERVIEW:  If you've dabbled with social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn but would like know more about using them effectively, a pair of workshops we are planning could be for you.  The Aug 14 will focus on providing an overview overview of the major social media tools, and covering pros/cons and tips for each of them.  We will talking about how the tools can support community, personal and/or professional goals you may have.  The trainers will stay at least 30 minutes after the group session to provide individual follow-up or assistance.

There will be a follow-up session in the early fall focusing specifically on Twitter in more depth, given that is newer to people based on our survey results.

The training will be facilitated by SCI President & Founder David Crowley, assisted by Mike Cooper who recently completed a year as our Outreach & Technology Coordinator.  We're offering this at a fraction of the typical cost for such a training, as we believe more people making good use of these social media tools can also strengthen good old fashioned, face-face relationships too!
