A lucky crowd got quite a show last Friday night with the second Jack Marlowe Park Concert performer Southern Rail. The concert, sponsored by Michael de la Maza, drew a crowd of over 150 music enthusiasts to hear some great original and proven favorite bluegrass tunes.
The great weather helped Southern Rail make an extraordinary debut in Woburn. The Band, made up of banjo, 6-string guitar, bass cello, and mandolin players all joined together in riveting harmonies to produce vocals everyone enjoyed. Southern Rail’s reputation for strong material, heart-stopping harmonies, and infectious good humor got the crowd laughing and clapping to the beat throughout the two hour concert.
This is the seventh year that the Jack Marlowe Park (formerly Citizens Park) Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. Join friends and family every other Friday from 7-9 P.M. throughout the summer at Jack Marlowe Park. Each concert welcomes a new, talented group of musicians to Woburn. The next concert will be on July 24th, featuring the Irish Folk band The McTeggarts and is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts of Woburn Center.
With generous support from local businesses, this concert series is free to the public. For a full schedule including dates, performers, and sponsors please click here.
