Mishawum Choral Society rehearsals

The Mishawum Choral Society begins rehearsals for the fall season on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Woburn Center (corner of Main and Winn Streets).  The group holds open rehearsals during the month of September and welcomes new members who have experience in four-part choral singing and can read along with sheet music.  Concerts are performed in the Crawford Memorial Methodist Church in Winchester.  For more information, go to website or call 781-438-4379.

Friday, August 6th - It was perfect night for a concert at Horn Pond, the humidity had lifted and it was cool and breezy enough to keep the bugs at bay.  The Woburn DPW had worked their magic of cleaning the grassy area in front of the stage, known as Ice House Park, and The McTeggarts, a crowd favorite, played their traditional Irish music for two solid hours, without stopping to take a break.  Attendee

The McTeggarts create traditional Irish folk music that makes you want to stand up and join in. Beat Soup’s ska-influenced stylings include both instrumental dance pieces and vocal numbers.  Playing originals and covers, the 8-piece dance band from Boston feature a classic sax/trombone/trumpet horn section as well as guitar, keyboard and drums.
