Come join the Woburn Historical Society for tours down the battle road (between 11 and 1) with re-enactors playing the parts of historical figures telling their stories from April 19, 1775.  There will be a British encampment manned by His Majesty's 10th Regiment of Foot and a Colonial Militia encampment manned by members of the Charlestown Militia.  Each camp will show what life was like at camp back in the 18th century and perform all the tasks that were done.  Lots to see and do and there will also be a food vendor there to keep you refereshed, so come on down.  The event will run from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday May 3rd at The Old Tarky School Lot off Russel St and Silver Mine Rd.

Due to the impending weather, the Hurld School Playground Map Event has been moved to Saturday, April 18th.

Current and future students at the Hurld School will be getting a course in geography outside the classroom - on the school's playground. The Massachusetts Branch of Verizons Pioneers will arrive @ 7:30 with stencils, paint and paintbrushes to paint a map of the United States on the new pavement in the back playground. Part of Verizon's Education for Kids program, the map is geared to help students with their geography, as well as to promote national pride. The large and colorful map will take nearly five hours to complete.  The Hurld School is located at 75 Bedford Road  in Woburn and this event will be taking place from 7:30 am -2:30 pm on Saturday April.

The City of Woburn is starting its first Annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday May 2nd from 9:00am to 2:00pm.  A map of the different location will be available at City Hall / Recreation Department for people to pick up free of charge for those who are interested.  Volunteers are needed once again to help with making this event successful.  Volunteers are needed from 8:00 am - 10:00 am and will be stationed at the city hall parking lot located across from the Public Library.  If you are inter

You be the judge! It’s not too late to help shape this year’s Summer Concert Series!  Come and help decide who stays and who goes for this year's Jack Marlowe Park Summer Concert Series. Come and listen to potential bands that could perform this summer. You can also bring any bands that you would like to nominate. The second meeting will be held on February 24th from 7:00 P.M to 8:30 P.M.

Council of Social Concern LogoThe Council of Social Concern will be hosting their first ever live telethon.  The telethon will be taking place on March 1st, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Woburn Memorial High School. The telethon will be aired on local cable channels.

ymca logoWork off those Holiday calories at the To Hill and Back run sponsored by Batteries Plus this Friday, November 28th.  Enjoy a 4.25 mile trail run to the top of Horn Pond Mountain in Woburn.   The race begins at 10:00am.  There is a $15 registration fee before November 19th and $20 after November 19th.
