On Sunday October 20, the Woburn Host Lions Club will be hosting their 2nd Annual Monster Dash and Haunted Walk. This event will take place at Lions Park at Woburn's Horn Pond from 1 pm until 5 pm. There will be three different events individuals can participate in. The Children's Fun Run is for children ages 5-14, it is a 0.8 mile run. This event is sponsored by Rockland Trust and is free for those participants. The 2.1 mile walk is a Costume Walk, for those who would prefer to take a stroll and enjoy the scenery. This event is $10 for participants.

Healthy Family Palooza

The Y will be hosting their Healthy Family Palooza event on Saturday October 5, from 9 am until 12 pm. This event will take place at Horn Pond in Woburn. There will be fun family activites and games throughout the morning. Also there will be prizes and awards inlcuding an award for the best costume. Walkin’ The Line will be playing the final show of the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series this Friday, August 16 at Horn Pond. This concert will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ice House Park section of Horn Pond, near the intersection of Beacon St. and Sturgis St. This concert is being sponsored by Lennon Insurance Agency and Arbella Charitable Insurance Group Foundation.

Walkin’ The Line is a high energy, modern top 40 country band taking New England by storm! Walkin’ The Line is an all-star lineup of musicians, bringing years of experience with some of the best bands around, and they are ready to bring their killer live show to Horn Pond! With influences ranging from Miranda Lambert to Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley to the Zac Brown Band, Walkin’ The Line is sure to keep you dancing all night!

This is the eleventh year that the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. The concerts are a perfect way to spend summer nights with your fellow community members and enjoy the beautiful Horn Pond area. Bring your family, friends, and lawn chairs to Ice House Park to enjoy some live music. These concerts are free to the public due to the generous support from local businesses.

The Summer Concert Series is coordinated by Social Capital Inc. (SCI), North Suburban Y, Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network (WREN), and the City of Woburn. A special thank you goes out to the Woburn DPW for their logistical assistance.

Come on down to Horn Pond this Saturday, August 10 for some live music by local talent. Every Other Thursday, a local band with ties to Woburn is scheduled to play the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series this Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ice House Park section of Horn Pond, near the intersection of Beacon St. and Sturgis St. This concert is sponsored by Woburn resident, Michael de la Maza.

Every Other Thursday is an Alternative Rock band consisting of two Berkeley students and a freelance musician, Pat McManus on vocals and guitar, Calvin Williams on lead guitar and Mike McCall on drums.
 
Bad weather has caused this concert to be rescheduled several times so far this summer, but weather forecasts seem promising for this Saturday night. However, in the event of rain, please check www.sciwoburn.org for cancellations.

The McTeggart’s are scheduled to play this Friday, August 2 at Horn Pond. This concert will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ice House Park section of Horn Pond, near the intersection of Beacon St. and Sturgis St. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for this concert will be Thursday, August 8.

The McTeggart’s concert is being sponsored by McCue Garden Center. McCue’s will generously be providing free steamed corn on the cob for all concert attendees and a dance floor to feature an Irish Step Dancing demonstration by Miss Louise’s School of Dance.

The McTeggart's are Jimmy Byrne and Mike O'Brien. Jimmy hails from Cork and Mike hails from Dublin. Together, their dulcet tones and superb musicianship make for one of the most sought after folk Irish bands in America and abroad.
 
Jimmy and Mike are one of the most traveled duos on the Irish American music scene. They have  been  together for over 30 years and played venues throughout Canada and the U.S., Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and New Brunswick, Colorado, Illinois,  Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and  Seoul, Korea.

This Friday, July 19th, Perfect Crime is scheduled to play at Horn Pond. This concert is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts of Woburn Center and will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Horn Pond, along the flat grassy area of Sturgis Street, otherwise known as Ice House Park. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for this concert will be Friday, July 26 from 7 – 9pm.

Perfect Crime is a five piece, Killer Classic Rock cover band. The band features multiple strong vocalists and deep harmonies as they bring the music of the 60's, 70's 80's and 90's to life.
