The Summer Concert Series Committee is proud to announce the 2013 Horn Pond Summer Concert Series! The Horn Pond Summer Concert Series is a collection of free concerts designed to promote community spirit organized by SCI and sponsored by local businesses.

This year’s concert series will again be held at Ice House Park at Horn Pond. Ice House Park is the name of the flat grassy area that runs along Sturgis Street, to the right of the boat ramp. For your comfort and enjoyment, please remember to bring folding chairs or a blanket and insect repellant.

We have an exciting lineup of bands scheduled this year! All the concerts will be held on Friday evenings, unless a rain date is needed.

Get ready for one of Woburn's most highly anticipated summer events, Horn Pond Day! Organized by the Woburn Lions Clubs, the 3rd Annual Horn Pond Day will take place on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

This day-long event will include tons of family fun activities such as hayrides, kayak rentals, video games, prize drawings, crafters, live music, food and much more! All proceeds from the event will go towards Lions Club charities.

Bring the kids down to Ice House Park at Horn Pond for a guided walk around the lagoon! Sponsored by WREN, the Horn Pond Walk for Children will take place on Saturday, June 15th at 9:00 a.m.!

The walk will consist of learning a little history about the pond, looking at wild flowers and trying to spot baby animals. Make sure you come prepared with comfortable walking shoes and sunblock and bug spray if needed. Other items you may want to bring include water and a camera. Please leave the pets at home, so the animals are not scared away.

This walk will be anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours. It is geared toward children, but all are welcome to attend. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Horn Pond Walk for Children

Walk around the Lagoon and learn a little history, see some wild flowers and maybe some baby animals!

Wear good walking shoes and bring sunblock and bug spray just in case. Water and cameras optional.

The walk will be anywhere from 1-1.5 hours.

The Woburn Conservation Commission is holding its annual Conservation Day event on Saturday, May 4. The event begins at 9:00 AM. The sign-in table will be at the Cove Street entrance to the Horn Pond Conservation Area.

All are welcome to come, help out, enjoy and appreciate the area. It is a great day to meet your neighbors, old friends and make some new ones! 

For students seeking community service credit hours, please let the sign-in table know that you will be needing certification for your participation.

This year's anticipated projects include:

-Clean-up of winter debris along trails
-Cutting of brush overhanging trails
-General trash pick up

Please attend for a day to get things done and have some fun!

Conservation Day

Join the Woburn Conservation Commission for the 41st Annual Conservation Day!

Meet at the Cove Street entrance to the Horn Pond Conservation area. There will be a table to sign-in and get your papers signed for community service hours.

This is a great opportunity to get outside and meet your neighbors, while helping with some much needed clean up activities at Horn Pond.

This year's anticipated projects include:

SCI has been collaborating with the City & others to create a pavilion at Ice House Park by Horn Pond. The goal is to provide a more aesthetically pleasing structure than the trailer currently used for many events at Horn Pond, including SCI's free summer concert series!

This would also provide better lighting for the concerts. The plans for the pavilion are being discussed at a Conservation Committee meeting at City Hall on Thursday, April 11 at 7PM.
