Horn Pond Nature Walk for Children

Bring the kids down to Ice House Park at Horn Pond for a guided walk around the lagoon! Sponsored by WREN, the Horn Pond Walk for Children will take place on Saturday, June 15th at 9:00 a.m.!

The walk will consist of learning a little history about the pond, looking at wild flowers and trying to spot baby animals. Make sure you come prepared with comfortable walking shoes and sunblock and bug spray if needed. Other items you may want to bring include water and a camera. Please leave the pets at home, so the animals are not scared away.

This walk will be anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hours. It is geared toward children, but all are welcome to attend. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

City Hall Meeting about Music Pavilion at Horn Pond

SCI has been collaborating with the City & others to create a pavilion at Ice House Park by Horn Pond. The goal is to provide a more aesthetically pleasing structure than the trailer currently used for many events at Horn Pond, including SCI's free summer concert series!

This would also provide better lighting for the concerts. The plans for the pavilion are being discussed at a Conservation Committee meeting at City Hall on Thursday, April 11 at 7PM.

There will be a meeting at City Hall to discuss plans for a new music pavilion to be built at Horn Pond.
