Happy families aren't born, they are made one day at a time. The Council of Social Concern is offering Parenting Education classes for parents of children ages 1 to 5 years.

Learn about a variety of different topics such as discipline methods, how to prevent tantrums, routines and much more! Through the use of videos, activities and group discussions, the group leader will help parents learn important parenting skills.

The classes will be held at the Council of Social Concern on Tuesday evenings for four consecutive weeks from Feb. 5th to Feb. 26th from 6:00-8:00pm.

There is no fee for the class, but there will be a $10 refundable registration fee that will be returned after completion of all four classes.

Space is limited and is available on a first come first serve basis. Babysitting will also be available.

Register by January 31st to be eligible. For more information or to register, contact Dawn Lorino at (781) 935-6495 ext 217.

27th Annual Holiday Food Basket Project is Underway!

The Council of Social Concern's Food Pantry is getting ready for its Annual Holiday Food Basket Distribution for families in need who reside in Woburn or Winchester. Last year, the pantry distributed over 800 Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to local families.

If you know of any families in need, please refer them to the attached flyer, so they can sign up for a Thanksgiving basket. The form also explains how to request a Christmas basket, which is being done differently this year than for the Thanksgiving basket.

There are also a number of ways individuals in the community can donate or volunteer to help with this food basket project. To learn about all of the opportunities, click here.
