Woburn Letter Carriers Food Drive

From date:
Sat, 10/27/2007 - 6:00am

I believe we all have good intentions. We mean to pick up that birthday card, send that thank you note, visit that friend in the hospital…. We mean well, but life gets in the way and, before we know it, the opportunity has passed. Well, if you have been meaning to help our “neighbors in need” by making a donation to the Food Pantry, it couldn't be easier, thanks to our friends at the Woburn Post

Food Bank Seeks Volunteers

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for an able-bodied volunteer to accompany me to the Greater Boston Food Bank once a month. We have a standing appointment for the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30, so we need to leave about 10:30 a.m. A Red Cross truck meets us there and transports the food. I just need someone to ride into Boston with me, help me load the truck, ride back with me and help us unload the truck at the Food Pantry. The whole thing takes about two hours.

Food drive to benefit Council of Social Concern this week -

What does a martial art that includes throws and break falls have to do with hunger and helping families in need? Normally, absolutely nothing, but this week Woburn Aikikai is conducting a food drive as part of its upcoming Aikido seminar on Aug. 25 to benefit the Council of Social Concern Food Pantry in Woburn.
