This is Mary Cummings Park's second Art Walk, inspired by Andy Goldsworthy's much-loved book, "A Collaboration with Nature", Goldsworthy showed us how one could connect with nature to create marvelous, magical, temporary sculptures using natural materials found in woods and fields.

WorldFest is a multicultural celebration that takes place each spring on the Woburn Public Library Lawn. This year WorldFest will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2-5 pm. This event is put together by SCI and the YMCA International Learning Center. We are currently seeking performers and participants to share their culture with the community, through art, music, dance, and food.

If you're from the Woburn area, you have most likely seen, heard of, or attended WorldFest. It is a celebration of diversity put together each spring by SCI and the YMCA International Learning Center.

The festival is held in front of the Woburn Public Library and is a highly successful event. This year it will take place on Sunday, May 19th from 2-5pm.

WorldFest allows individuals to showcase their different cultures and heritage through art, music, food, and dance.

Students who are a part of the Leadership Team at the International Learning Center (ILC) have been the primary group putting this celebration together in recent years. The students on the Leadership Team are adult English language learners.

This year we are recruiting a volunteer Steering Committee of community members interested in working with the ILC student leaders to make the event even more successful in 2013. We would like to see more people in the community involved with this event and sharing their creative input.

The next Steering Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, March 12 from 7pm to 8pm at the United Methodist Church (523 Main Street, Woburn, MA).

The Woburn Guild of Artists has been offering free art workshops in a variety of different mediums for teenagers and adults to explore their artistic abilities, but this time it's the kids' turn!

Come down to the A.C. Moore Art Store (in the Super Stop & Shop Plaza, 2 Elm Street, Woburn) on Saturday, December 1 from 12:30-2:30pm for a special day for kids.

Don't worry about bringing any materials as they will be provided for the children. All that is required is an excitement for art and creativity!

As with most workshops, seating is limited, so get there early. These free art workshops will be offered again in the spring. For more information, click here.

Once again the Woburn Guild of Artists (WGA) is offering a monthly art demonstration at New Horizons at Choate on Thursday, November 15 at 7pm. "Light, Shadow, and Shades of Grey" will showcase the amazing pencil portrait art of Rick Corbett. The demonstration is FREE for WGA members and residents of New Horizons.

Corbett creates realistic portraits with a pencil simply by referring to photographs. You need to see it to believe it! Come to this demonstration and learn about his technique and style.
