The February Vacation Club is back by popular demand. The Project Learn Extended Day Program will once again offer school age child care during February school vacation week. The February Vacation Club will serve children in Kindergarten through 7th grade. The program will be open Tuesday, February 16th through Friday, Feb. 19, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. During the week, the group will be going on a field trip. The Boys and Girls Club of Woburn in conjunction with UMass-Boston will be hosting a Health Carnival this Saturday, November 7th from 1 to 4pm. We would like to invite all to come down to learn how to improve your healthy habits through interactive displays and activities! Challenge your knowledge of the food pyramid, better your tooth brushing techniques, and test your physical prowess on the obstacle course!
Social Capital Inc. (SCI) has recently been joined by a new team of AmeriCorps Members. These new members have been placed throughout the Woburn community, helping several different organizations expand their services to the community during this time of need.
Michael Cooper serves is serving as an Outreach and Technology Coordinator for the SCI Woburn office. He manages the "Week in Woburn" eNews, serves as webmaster for the SCI Woburn website and operates various other web technologies for other SCI sites. He has a B.A. in Philosophy from Furman University, an M.A. in Philosophy from Texas Tech University, and is currently finishing his M.S. in Ethics and Public Policy from Suffolk University.

The Boys and Girls Club of Woburn is holding it's Annual $25,000 Pot of Gold Raffle. Tickets are $100 and the grand prize drawing will be drawn March 14th, 2009 at the St. Patrick Day Social at the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn, located at 1 Charles Gardner Lane. All net proceeds go to support your Boys and Girls Club.
On February 12th at 7:00 pm, New York Life will be hosting an Educational Planning Workshop at the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn located at 1 Charles Gardner Ln. They will be addressing and discussing the rising cost in education, different associated costs of college, how Upromise can help you save, scholarships and grants, as well as tax smart strategies to save for college.
