woburn

children trick-or-treating

Halloween is finally here! In case you were unsure about when trick-or-treating is in Woburn, it will be on October 31, rain or shine! There are no specific times scheduled for it, but some parents like to start early when it is still light out. For those interested in trick-or-treating indoors, the Woburn Mall (300 Mishawum Road) will be handing out candy from 5 to 7pm.

Another important date worth mentioning is Sunday, November 4. On the first Sunday of every November, it's time to "Fall back." Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour at 2am for Daylight Savings Time! Did you know that Daylight Savings Time started during World War I?

Halloween is getting closer. The North Suburban YMCA is decorating some of their hallways to get ready for halloween. It takes place on Friday, October 26th from 6 to 8pm.

Events will include:
-Haunted Hallway Tours
-Creepy Carnival in the Gym
-Light Refreshments

Costumes are encouraged. You should pre register at the welcome Center desk to be guaranteed a ticket. It is free for family members, $5 for members, and $10 for non-members.

On September 10, six new AmeriCorps members began their ten months of service at four different non profit organizations in Woburn, including SCI's main office, NuPath Inc., Boys and Girls Club of Woburn, and the North Suburban YMCA. Each AmeriCorps member serves as either an Outreach and Technology Coordinator (OTC) or a Youth Leadership Coordinator (YLC). Although they each have specific requirements for their position, they share the same goal of connecting citizens to strengthen the community.
