Woburn Redevelopment Authority Public Hearing

Thu, 01/02/2014 - 6:00pm

On Thursday January 2, 2014 the Woburn Redevelopment Authority will host a formal public hearing regarding the Community Development Strategy. In the first meeting, ideas featured included more aid for owners of housing, more senior housing in the downtown area, more parking in the downtown area, the Magazine Hill area at the North end of Woburn Center, traffic in the Four Corners area, and adding traffic solutions on an overall basis.

Congrats to the WRA and other City of Woburn officials who worked very hard to secure a Community Development Block Grant of $756,750 to support housing rehabilitation efforts in a sizeable portion of the city's South End and adjacent areas.  This is especially welcomed at a time when funds are so tight for local government and homeowners alike!  WRA Director Don Borchelt projects applications for the funding will be available around June 1.

It serves to summarize the planning documents used by the community, and to outline a plan of action intended to accomplish specific goals that will have an impact upon the community.
