All Woburn census forms should be returned to city hall by Friday, May 9, advises City Clerk William Campbell. More than 16,000 forms were mailed to all households about two months ago. Under Massachusetts State law, if there is no record of receiving a census return, the city must mail a confirmation card to all voters. If you have not mailed your form back, please do so this week.

On Saturday, May 3 the Woburn Recreation Department will host the City Wide Yard Sale. This event will take place throughout the day at various locations throughout the city. The Rec Department has been busy creating the maps of the homes that will be participating within the yard sale. These maps should be available online and at City Hall on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. The homes participating in the yard sale will be represented by signs provided by the city.

The deadline to avoid paying a late fee for dog licenses is Monday, March 17. Woburn ordinances require that any dog over 3 months old must be registered with the City Clerk. The license fee for unaltered male or female dogs is $15. For spayed and neutered dogs the fee is $10. After March 17, the fee will increase to $30 and $25. Questions can be directed to the City Clerk's Office, 781-897-5850.

Last week the City of Woburn distributed the annual local census. Almost 16,000 forms were mailed to every household in the City. Forms are due back at City Hall within 10 days after receipt. City Clerk, William Campbell emphasizes the importance of returning your filled out Census forms. Under the Massachusetts State Law, if a census is not returned from a residence, the voters in that house are designated inactive. The census is also a primary source for proof of residence now and into the future.

Woburn Inauguration Ceremony

Tonight the City of Woburn will welcome recently elected officials with its inauguration ceremony. The Ceremony will take place at the Flaherty Auditorium at Woburn Memorial High School located at 88 Montvale Avenue. Those residents that were elected this past fall will be sworn in. The evening will include an inaugural address by Mayor Scott Galvin.

Due to the snow storm that took place this past week. The Woburn Redevelopment Authority Community Development Meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday January 9th. The Woburn Redevelopment Authority will host a Community Development Meeting at 6:30 pm. The meeting will take place at Woburn City Hall Council Chambers located at 10 Common Street.
