christmas heartOn Saturday, Dec 20th, there will be a Fundraiser to benefit Morgan Cronin, a 5 year old who is fighting leukemia.  There will be a Family Fun Afternoon from 1:00-3:00 pm (Treats, games, crafts, a visit with Santa,  etc.)  Adults $25, children under 12 are free.  The evening event from  7:00-11:00pm will include a buffet dinner, dancing, raffle, silent auction,  etc.  Cost is $25 per adult.   Kids 12 and under free.  Attending both events?  One ticket provides admission to both  events.  Both events will be held at the Sons of Italy, at 168 Lexington Street,  in Woburn.

woburn city hallThe Woburn Redevelopment Authority(WRA) will be holding a public meeting on Thursday December 11th from 7PM to 9PM at the WRA office at 371 Main Street, in Woburn Square, to review and update the City of Woburn's Community Development Strategy.  The current CD Strategy can be downloaded from the City of Woburn website here.  Just click on the folder for WRA Downloads. The CD Strategy serves to summarize the City's current planning documents, describe the City's community development goals and present a list of prioritized projects and activities designed to meet these goals. The CD Strategy also identifies geographical areas that will be the focus of the City's development efforts.  Any person or organization who wishes to comment on the CD Strategy will be afforded an opportunity to be heard. This is an excellent chance to get involved in our community by taking an active role in shaping it's future progress.

woburn city hallThe 14th Annual Festival On The Common will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, 3 to 7 p.m. in Woburn.  The festival features live continuous holiday music performances from the steps of City Hall, free singing hayrides on horse-drawn wagons, ice sculpting demonstrations, roaming carolers, food courts, and the Woburn Fire Department Smoke Safety House. There will be no admission or ride fees, so feel free to bring the whole family down for a whole night of holiday fun!

Community Development Strategy Meeting

The Woburn Redevelopment Authority will be holding a public meeting on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, from 7pm - 9pm at the Woburn Police Station, 25 Harrison Avenue, to receive public comment regarding the City’s Community Development Strategy. The Strategy is a requirement of the Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). It serves to summarize the planning documents used by the community, and to outline a plan of action intended to accomplish specific goals that will have an impact upon the community.
