Brickyard Fall Concert Series

On September 15, from Noon until 11 PM the Brickyard in Woburn will be hosting its Fall Concert Series at the Jack Marlowe Park, 371 Main Street in Woburn.

There will be entertainment and concessions at the event, with admission price of  $5 (children under 12 admitted free).  A portion of the ticket price is to benefit the Woburn Public Library. 

The Library Trustees will hold a drawing for two gift cards - $250.00 and $500.00.

Come volunteer at the City of Woburn Soccer Shack!  Volunteers are needed every Saturday for the soccer season.  Volunteers are essential to keep the shack up and running for the players and keep fees low for the parents.  You get to pick which Saturday and the shift! To volunteer, email soceershack@gmail.com the date that you would like to volunteer and the shift that you are interested in.  Shifts are: 10am-12pm, 11am-1pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-3:30pm.

The Friends of Woburn Veterans is looking for names of those who have fought for our country to include on the new monument being erected in the Common.  If you or a family member served in the armed forces during a time period of war, please consider adding to this new memorial.  It is estimated that there will be 13,000- 15,000 names on this new monument, which will include veterans from the Revolutionary War all the way to Operation Enduring Freedom. 

Applications for adding a name to the new monument can be picked up at the Woburn Public Library, the Veterans Office, or online at the City of Woburn’s website, cityofwoburn.com.

Mayor Scott D. Galvin and State Rep. James Dwyer will co-host an informational public meeting to discuss fare hikes and cuts in service proposed by the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Woburn City Hall.
