Meeting at WMHS Tuesdays After School

The Teen VEAP program held a meeting on Tuesday, March 22nd, in the Woburn Memorial High School cafeteria.  Additional meetings will be held on Tuesdays after school, with the next meeting on April 12.

At the meeting, we will discuss different ways students can get involved in this project. This includes developing your own project (more on that below) or working directly with the Teen VEAP interns on outreach plans. One of the ideas we will be looking for help with is developing a vaccine education video for social media. Great experience and leadership opportunity that would look great on a college application! Fill out this form if you are interested in working directly with Teen VEAP on this project.

Come join us to find out how you can get involved! Oh yes, did we mention, free food?!?

Group application

Do you have ideas for encouraging more people to get vaccinated? Do you know a group of teens that might like $1,000 to implement an awareness campaign to encourage vaccination to keep our community safe? If you answered yes to either of these questions, read on! The initial deadline has passed, but we will take applications from project teams until we have used up our $3,000 budget for project grants. As of now, there is still funding available!

The SCI Teen VEAP (Vaccine Equity Access Project) is SCI’s effort to increase teen COVID-19 vaccination rates, with a focus on populations that have been most hard hit by the pandemic and that have lower vaccination rates.

We are looking for groups of teens that would like to develop an awareness campaign to encourage more of their peers to get vaccinated; with a priority on population groups with low vaccination rates. Interested groups should start by completing this form as soon as possible! We want to pick groups to work on this ASAP!

If your application looks encouraging, you will be matched with a coach to help you further develop your project. After 3 to 4 weeks of working on your project, groups will present their plans to a panel of judges. Successful presentations will be awarded up to $1,000 to implement their ideas!

For more information, visit or contact David Crowley at You can also connect with one of our VEAP interns --  WMHS students Jemima Verdier or Meghan O'Brien.

This project is funded through CHNA 15 DoN funds from Lahey Hospital and Medical Center and Winchester Hospital. Major support for SCI Woburn provided by Cummings Properties.
