4 Pillars of Success

This week, on Wednesday, May 6 , Jennifer Mack, M. Ed, presented 4 Pillars of Success: Thriving During These Uncertain Times of Quarantine and Remote Learning. Jennifer has been in education for over 17 years and is a MA certified elementary teacher for grades 1-6.  She provides personalized academic support to students based on each child's needs and learning style.  Through work with teachers, parents and students Jennifer's goal is to help students feel confident in themselves and their abilities and to help parents, guardians and teachers learn how to best support their students throughout their academic career. You can watch a Video of this program below.

The Woburn Parent's Network, a collaboration between Woburn Public Schools, SCI and the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club, was just launched two weeks ago with a great presentation by Jen Mahon on setting up family routines.  Last week John Mattleman presented on mental health issues affecting our kids during quarantine.  The goal of the WPN is to create a support group of parents in Woburn who can lean on each other in good times and crazy pandemic times alike.  Eventually, WPN will have in person events and meetings to build more camaraderie within the group.  For now, WPN will host Zoom presentations on topics that will hopefully help us all grow though this difficult time rather than just "get through" it.

This program from the Woburn Parent Network is funded through CHNA 15 DoN funds from Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, coordinated by SCI in partnership with Woburn Public Schools and the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn.

All of the WPN presentations are available at http://sciwoburn.org/wpn.  SCI is asking that any/all parents in Woburn fill out the short survey at that same link regarding programming for future WPN presentations.
