SCI Serving Up Some “Beat Soup” * Rescheduled for this Friday at Horn Pond
Since its formation in 1992, Beat Soup has been named a Boston Globe Pick of the Week, produced 3 albums, and played all over New England. The 8-piece band has been compared to Bim Skala Bim, Madness, Elvis Costello and The Specials. Their original music was inspired by British Invasion Pop, 2Tone Ska, and bands like Talking Heads and even The B52s! Early on in the band’s formation they added a horn section made up of classic sax, trombone, and trumpet to further their Caribbean and Rock Beats.
This is the ninth year that the Woburn Summer Concert Series will entertain Woburn residents. The concerts are a perfect way to enjoy summer nights with your fellow community members. This year’s great venue allows you to enjoy the full beauty of Horn Pond.
Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs to Horn Pond to enjoy free concerts every other Friday throughout the summer. With generous support from local businesses, the Concert Series is free to the public. For a full schedule including dates, band line-up, and sponsors visit www.sciwoburn.org/concerts.
The Woburn Summer Concert Series is coordinated by Social Capital Inc. (SCI), North Suburban YMCA, Woburn Residents’ Environmental Network (WREN), and the Woburn Redevelopment Authority. A special thank you goes out to Tucker Quinn and the Woburn DPW for their logistical assistance.
