The Woburn Historical Society presents the Merry Minstrels' “A Musical Celebration of Saint Patrick's Day”
The Woburn Historical Society invites you to celebrate the music and dance of the Emerald Isle with the Merry Minstrels' annual performance at the Hurld-Wyman School. Bring your family & friends to enjoy a variety of Irish songs and dance, and bring your voices to sing along! Song sheets will be provided. Admission is free.
This year's program will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 2pm, at the new Hurld-Wyman School Auditorium, 39 Wyman St, Woburn. Light refreshments will be served. Vocals and music performed on fiddle, guitar, whistles, bodhran, accordion, and keyboard, will include selections spanning three centuries, from traditional tunes that originated in Ireland to songs composed in America, inspired by Irish tradition. Guests from the Lexington Historical Society Dancers will demonstrate Ceili dancing, a form of Irish social dance descended from country dances of the 18th century.
